DESCRIPTION:The state's new sick leave law takes effect January 1\, 2015.  However\, the right to accrue and take sick leave under this law does not take effect until July 1\, 2015. Join us to learn about this new law and how it will affect you and your business.\n\n\n\nThis class will be taught by Former Deputy Labor Commissioner with the Department of Industrial Relations State of California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement - Noel Zuniga.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNoel Zuniga has worked for the State of California for over 25 years. He started in Unemployment Insurance Benefits. Then as an Employment Program Representative with Job Service assisting job seekers with employment needs. He also worked in the Disability Paid Family Leave Program. The last eleven years Noel has worked as a Deputy Labor Commissioner with the Department of Industrial Relations/Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. He conducts statewide labor compliance inspections. He has lived in the Tulare County most of his life. He is a graduate of the College of the Sequoias in Visalia\, CA and attended Sonoma State University in Sonoma\, California. He is also certified as a Worker Occupational Safety Health Specialist with the University of California\, Berkeley\, Noel\, now manages his own consulting company\; Labor Compliance Solutions. He aides businesses\, ensuring they are in compliance with the current state laws. He is also a certified First-Aid\, CPR\, and Sexual Harassment Instructor.
