Transportation

Seven exits off Highway 99 access Tulare. Additionally, Tulare is just 40 minutes from Interstate 5, which connects California to Oregon and Washington. Besides being easily accessible by private vehicle, several other transit options are available: 

Air: Visalia Municipal Airport, located just 10 miles from Tulare, offers easy access to domestic passenger flights. Both Federal Express and UPS also provide surface overnight service from the Visalia airport. Expanded domestic and international flights are available from Fresno/Yosemite International Airport and Bakersfield's Meadows Field Airport, both about an hour's drive. Local private plane service is available at the City of Tulare's Municipal Airport.

Rail: Tulare is located on the main line of Union Pacific Railroad, providing commercial rail service to cities throughout the nation. Passenger rail service is available on Amtrak which makes stops in nearby Corcoran and Hanford.

Bus: Greyhound offers frequent passenger and package service to all points in the west from Tulare. The local Tulare Transit Express system offers a fixed route schedule throughout the city, one route to Visalia and  Dial-A-Ride  service.

Port: The Port of Stockton is 170 miles north of Tulare via Highway 99. The Sacramento, Los Angeles and San Francisco ports are all approximately 200 miles via an excellent highway system.
