9 Max Chobian Road Race - Max Choboian Road Race-Sponsored by the Tulare Youth Service Bureau, celebrates its thirty-second running this year at the International Agri-Center. Proceeds support the programs at the Tulare Youth Service Burear. Services include children's mental health and child sexual abuse treatment. "In Honoring Distinguished Women", the Tulare City Historical Society's cultural program will be in support of National Women's History Month by inviting several distinguished women to our museum to honor them while at the same time showcasing the role of women in our American society. 9 Tulare City Historical Society - Reverse Drawing Fund-raiser, at the home of Tulare Mayor Craig Vejvoda. The fun event begins at 5:30 p.m. with complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres. The drawing will follow. Winners need not be present to win. This year we are selling 250 tickets at $50 each. The top prize is $2000, and other tickets will be drawn for cash prizes of $50 to $800. 24 Sunrise Rotary to Hold 6th Santa Fe Trail-a-Thon - Continuing a Memorial Day weekend tradition, Tulare Sunrise Rotary once again invites the public to get up, get out, and get moving at their 6th Santa Fe Trail-a-Thon, a 5 kilometer walk/run. Leashed, non-aggressive dogs are welcome to join their owners. Water is available along the trail for the four-legged, as well as two-legged, entrants. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. Race starts at 7 a.m. Start line: Tiesiera Ford (corner of Cross Ave. and Mooney Blvd.) Finish line: Tulare Youth Center, 948 North H St. Entry fee: $10 for 19 years and younger; $20 adult pre-registration; $25 adult day-of-registration. Dogs walk free. Entry fee includes a T-shirt and breakfast. At the Youth Center the Noon Kiwanis serve up pancakes, coffee, and juice. Rotary provides fresh fruit and water while the participants wait for their "trophies," engraved rail road spikes. 10 - 14 Tulare County Fair - Tulare County Fair Grounds, 215 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Tulare. Musical line-up, Thursday, Sept.11, Collin Raye, who is most commonly known for award-winning singles such as "Love, Me," "Thats My Story," 'Little Red Rodeo," and "I Can Still Feel You," will play the Budweiser Stage. The Guess Who will follow with a performance on Friday, Sept. 12, playing "American Woman," the single that brought acclaim to the band in the 1970s as it hit No. 1 on the Billboaars singles chart. The band also had great sucess with singles such as "These Eyes" and Shakin' All Over." All concerts will begin at 8 p.m. on the Budweiser Stage, which will host a number of free concerts with paid admission to fairgoers Sept. 10-14 during the 2008 Tulare County Fair.
